PFH staffs the women's shelter at the Society for Ethical Culture and the men's shelter at Stephen Wise Free Synagogue. These are clean and safe, and house 3-10 women/night and 10-12 men/night, respectively. Volunteer commitment of 7 hours/week. Various days, overnight, off-campus.
The Ford Hall Emergency Food Pantry and the Clothes Closet programs provide food packs for low-income and homeless individuals, families, the elderly, and for people living with HIV/AIDS. Volunteers check client eligibility and prepare food packs, which contain a nutritious 3-day supply of fresh produce and canned goods.
