    Habitat for Humanity

As a part of Habitat for Humanity, a volunteer's role extends beyond just helping to build and renovate a housing unit. With dedication, a volunteer has the ability to help turn a family's dream home into reality. As a volunteer for Habitat you not only get to help a family out, you also get to learn neat and helpful skills in building renovation such as painting, grouting, putting in tiles and flooring, and so much more. The best part of Habitat is that you get an opportunity to meet new people from different backgrounds and share in the amazing experience of community and outreach. Katherine Lam, BC, 2009
Habitat for Humanity works to construct and renovate homes for low income families and to educate the campus and surrounding community about the need for affordable housing. Volunteers will spend one or two days a month workign either at a worksite in the five boroughs, constructing and renovating homes under the supervision of experienced contractors, or advocating for low-income housing.
