Project for the Homeless , founded and co-sponsored by Hillel, staffs two homeless shelters 6 nights each week. Pairs of volunteers, who stay in adjacent quarters on cots with clean sheets and pillows, help direct shelter operations, prepare meals, and interact with clients. PFH staffs the women's shelter at the Society for Ethical Culture and the men's shelter at Stephen Wise Free Synagogue. These are clean and safe, and house 3-10 women/night and 10-12 men/night, respectively. Volunteer commitment of 7 hours/week. Various days, overnight, off-campus.
