Julie Raskin is the Deputy Chief of Staff to the Deputy Commissioner of the NYC Parks Department. She began working at the Parks Department in 2008 through the New York City Urban Fellows Program. She was hired by the agency full-time after completing the fellowship and was recently promoted. Julie directs several environmental initiatives for the agency, including a Green Event program to reduce the ecological footprint of large events in parks, and chairs a task-force aimed at increasing recycling throughout the park system.
Craig Hosang graduated from NYU undergrad, Class of 2008. For the past two years he has worked on improving the City’s service delivery and customer (no longer just citizen) experience, and a number of special projects. Currently, Craig focuses on social innovation, social media and crowd sourcing, and customer service improvement.

Debra Schwartzman graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2000. After graduating, she worked at the American Museum of Natural History as a Special Events Coordinator in the Development Office for 3 years. She went back to graduate school at Baruch College/CUNY School of Public Affairs where she received the 2002 Hearst Fellowship in Nonprofit Management. After completing her Master’s in Public Administration in 2003, she was hired as a Program Manager for Operations at the NYC Department of Education. Ms. Schwartzman has been working at the Department of Education for 5 years and is now the Chief of Staff for the NYCDOE Office of School & Youth Development. She is also a NY Cares Volunteer/Project Leader at the Henry Street Settlement.
