Community Impact Webmaster Internship
Community Impact is offering a new 15-month web internship for Columbia or Barnard undergraduate students to maintain and update the organization’s website and carry out projects to expand and enhance its web presence. This program is the perfect resume builder for a young CS student wanting to gain leadership on campus and prepare for large scale projects off campus. Past webmasters have gone on to work at Goldman Sachs, Accenture, and the Monitor Group.
The program will operate from March 21, 2011 through May 2012, with the possibility of an extension.
Hours per Week: 10-12 hours
Stipend: Participants will be given a modest stipend of $2,500 for the 15-month internship: $250 payments twice a semester for spring 2011 ($500 total for a partial semester work), $500 payments twice a semester for fall 2011 and spring 2012 ($2,000 total).
Qualifications: Applicants are expected to have experience in web and computer programming. Knowledge of php/mysql/wordpress is useful, but not required as the initial period of the internship will focus on training. Because this is a 15-month internship program, the projected date of graduation of applicants must be May 2012 or after.
To apply, please send a cover letter and resume to webmaster@communityimpactatcu.org. Applications will be evaluated and accepted on a rolling basis.
