In 1981 two Columbia undergraduates, Joe DeGenova and David Joyce, began mentoring young people in Morningside Heights. From that single project, Community Impact has grown into the largest service organization on campus.
Our successful growth is a testament to the immense need for our services among low-income children and families in Morningside Heights, Harlem and Washington Heights.
